Do I need a building permit for interior residential renovations?
Non-structural cosmetic changes do not require a permit. However, any changes to the plumbing or electrical would require a permit. Items such as changing an electrical outlet or switch would not require a permit. The addition of a new circuit would require a permit. Replacement of plumbing fixtures to existing plumbing would not require a permit, but adding a new line to accommodate a new fixture would require a permit.

Do I need a building permit for new siding?
No

Do I need a building permit for new windows?
A permit is only required if the size of the windows being installed would require a structural change.

Do I need a building permit for a new roof?
A building permit is not needed for a shingle replacement. If structural changes are being made or an additional section of roof is being added to the structure, a permit would be required.

Do I need a permit for a swimming pool?
Yes. All pools, in-ground or above ground, need to be permitted.

Do I need a permit for a deck?
Yes. All decks, either new or replacement, need to be permitted.

May I burn garbage?
Yes. But no burning on Sundays or Mondays or after 7PM. Please don’t leave fire smolder. Larger controlled burn will require a permit.
